Good Warm Food on a Rainy Weekend

Alvin has an adoption pending!

I have a very favorite dog food. It is Wysong. Some stores carry it. I get it direct, and through We've just had a new delivery including some Archetype Burgers. These are "processed" raw food patties which I split apart into each bowl, cover with warm water, and watch them "regenerate." The dogs love them (they also get a decreased amount of kibble - this week it is Growth, even though most are seniors). Because the patties are raw, I'm careful to wash my hands and all the bowls after we eat. Today, it is raining and the temps dropped, so this was a special treat.

Another thing I'm vigorously trying this year is adding fresh fruits and veggies to their and MY meals. Remi loves this - he eats tomatoes, strawberries, broccoli, carrots, and mandarin oranges. I have a banana waiting in the wings. Alvin, a foster Beagle for Basset and Beagle Rescue of the Heartland, also loves broccoli and carrots. The other dogs, not so much, but I'm working on them.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday, wherever in the world you may be.

Remi in Yard - he loves corn, too!

Feeding Archie...and Fosters Online

I removed my links to the rescue pages since there are no longer dogs there for adoption. I'm a bit sad about it, and somewhat discomforted. Neither Adopt A Pet nor Petfinder will let me post my foster dogs on my pages. They need to be my dogs. Actually, that's not quite right - Adopt A Pet will let me post as an agent of the rescue(s) for whom I'm fostering. This I need to explore. Everywhere I look, I see pet fostering championed...and yet, even though these two groups support it, I as a foster home, am no longer able to use them as I did before. I can put my Beagles on Beagles on the Web and need to do so. At least, they will have national exposure to people looking for that particular type of dog.

Archie the Tyrant is a picky eater. iMHO, he needs to eat more, but if I feed him what he needs in one fell swoop, he won't eat it all. So, I've been feeding him 1/4 C. of moistened kibble at a time; he'll eat two, no more.

Today, I successfully upped his ration to 2/3 C., again in two different portions. He ate it all.  haHA. I'll see how long this lasts. in the past, I've needed to jump start him with some soft food, too.
